St. Martin of Tours has an association with the Priests of the Sacred Heart who have Vietnamese priests in their religious order, so it was a natural transition that the Milwaukee Vietnamese community was welcomed here in 2007.
Keeping the Vietnamese traditions it was essential to have a mass in their own language at 12:30pm. Other activities and traditions include teaching Vietnamese to the children, the first Sunday of October is dedicated to St. Therese, the first Saturday of the month they celebrate mass for Our Lady of Lavang (Mary), November is dedicated to the Vietnamese Martyrs.
The Vietnamese community has been synomonous with egg rolls. Egg rolls are available for purchase one weekend per month after all masses and their biggest sale is Labor Day weekend.
